Joseph Pressmane (Jewish-Polish, 1904-1967) 

Biography

Joseph Pressmane was a Jewish-Polish artist, who trained in the Academies of Art in Lwów (now Lviv, Ukraine) and Warsaw. He settled in Paris in 1922 and gained recognition through exhibiting at the Salon d'Automne, Salon des Indépendants, Salon des Tuileries and the Salon des Peintres Témoins de leur Temps. In 1951 he was awarded the Prix de la Critique. 

Today works by Joseph Pressmane are held in the collections of The National Museum of Modern Art, Paris; Museum of Jewish Art and History, Paris; Pully Museum of Art, Switzerland; regional museums in France and private collections.
