Mania Mavro (Ukrainian, 1889-1969)

Biography

Mania Mavro was a Ukrainian artist, she worked in France in the 1920s and was part of the network of French and émigré artists who settled on Montparnasse. Mavro drew landscapes of Brittany and central France, portraits, and nudes.

Mania Mavro has held solo exhibitions in Paris galleries Feuillets d’Art (1919), Georges Petit (1924), Galerie André (1925), Bernheim-Cadet (1929), Loup Blanc (1930). She made her debut at the Salon des Artistes Français, and later exhibited at the Salon des Tuileries and Salon d'Automne.

In 2002 Mania Mavro's work was featured in Women of Montparnasse at Musée de Montparnasse, Paris.
