Peter Alma (Dutch, 1886-1969)

Biography

Peter Alma was a Dutch painter. He became known for his 1939 murals which decorate the Amstel train station in Amsterdam. Peter Alma was also one of the pioneers of De Stijl, the Dutch abstract art movement founded in Leiden in 1917 and headed by Piet Mondrian.

Works of the artist have been featured at exhibitions at the Stedelijk Museum and the Museum Arnhem.
